| Brief description of application | |||
| The aim of this series of investigation, therefore, is to examine the craniofacial characteristics of Taiwanese samples with Class III malocclusion and normal control groups on the basis of geometric morphometric analyses. It is also to compare those of the yellow Mongolian population of the Taiwanese, Chinese, Japanese and Korean with the white Caucasian groups of the United States and United Kingdom. Developmental features of the cranial base are not fully understood, and its morphological contribution to Class III malocclusion remains unclear. This study may confirm the cranial base as a major etiological factor in Class III dentofacial organization and why a greater Class III tendency among the Mongolians. | |||
