Welcome
to the first issue of the TANet/I2 News Briefs. We
place before the public of the vBNS community and users
of our services reports of our recent activities.
Taiwan Academic Network (TANet) had just undergone a major
upgrade by adding another T3. Part of it is connected
to STAR TAP (Science Technology and Research Transit Access
Point). We named it "Internet2 for TANet"
since it is devoted to linking up to the very high - speed
Backbone Network Service (vBNS) initiated by the NSF.
This is a milestone event for us. On behalf of our
Center, I thank everyone who has helped us getting onto
the super-highways and the by-ways of the online world.
I strongly urge you to seize upon this wonderful opportunity
and explore collaborative research made possible by this
new implementation.
Best
wishes
